System for Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Boilers
The Ling Dry Ash Handling System for CFB boilers consists of a Ling Rotary Cooler, a Ling Bucket Conveyor and a Ling Dry Ash Silo. For CFB boilers ash is processed as follows: red-hot bottom-ash falls from a CFB boiler through the Ling Slide Gate Valve and into a Ling Rotary Cooler where it is cooled to 150°C. The ash is mechanically transported by a Ling Bucket Conveyor to a Ling Dry Ash Silo.
System for Pulverized Coal (PC) Boilers
The Ling Dry Ash Handling System for PC boilers consists of a Ling Extractor, a Ling Rotary Cooler, a Ling Fine/Coarse Crusher, a Ling Bucket Conveyor and a Ling Dry Ash Silo. For pulverized coal-fired boilers ash is processed as follows: red-hot bottom-ash falls from a pulverized coal-fired boiler through its ash hopper, and onto a Ling Extractor’s conveyer belt. The belt carries ash to a Ling Rotary Cooler where it is cooled to 150°C and is expelled into a Ling Crusher. After being crushed to a specified coarseness the ash is mechanically transported by a Ling Bucket Conveyor to a Ling Dry Ash Silo (pneumatic transport optional).
The Ling Extractor uses a steel conveyor belt that can easily tolerate large clinker shocks because a rigid water-filled bed supports it. Other dry ash-handling systems use scaly sheet-steel and steel-mesh conveyors that do not tolerate such shocks. In addition, the rigid bed design prevents belt side-skid problems that supporting-roller designs suffer from. This feature allows for very reliable operation with minimum maintenance. The steel belt does not utilize automatic tension devices because it is dragged by gear-teeth on a driving roller; other systems require such devices. The Ling extractor handles large-clinkers simply and effectively. Clinkers are automatically detected at the extractor exit and are automatically crushed by a pair of push-and-pull picks. Other dry ash-handling systems smash large clinkers using a large ash-grate with a complex crushing device.
The CFB system achieves automatic ash flow control using its cooler, without any regulating valves. An inexpensive slide-gate valve is installed for emergency shut-offs. Other CFB dry ash-handling systems utilize costly regulative valves. Our system is capable of adequate cooling during high ash-output operation and also over a wide range of ash-output settings (10 - 60 metric tons/hr). Ling Rotary Coolers use water as the primary cooling media. Other systems use air and are incapable of adequate cooling during high ash-output operation (ash remains red hot).
Ling crushers endure high temperatures; they can crush red-hot ash. There are a few types of Ling crushers, one is coarse (for mechanical transport) and another is fine (for pneumatic transport). The fine crusher reduces ash diameter to less than 8mm. Other crushers cannot operate at such high-temperatures and/or crush ash so finely.
In addition to the two submerged conveyors there is a new product: the Ling Bucket Conveyor. The bucket conveyor transports ash directly from a cooler to a silo. It carries ash without a bucket elevator, which simplifies overall ash transportation. The end result is a more affordable system with better reliability and reduced maintenance cost.
The Ling Dry Ash Silo has integrated solutions that allow for reliable, easy and clean ash extraction. Other dry ash silos suffer from issues related to extractor clogging, ease-of-controllability, and environmental pollution.
